Pastor David Goforth
Senior Pastor and President
Pastor Goforth grew up in a Christian home in Michigan. At a young age, he grew to understand his separation from God via Sunday School lessons and family devotions. He was led to the Lord by his father. Pastor Goforth attended Rochester Hills Christian School for most of his life and graduated from Springfield Christian Academy. He attended Pensacola Christian College, where he earned his B.A. in Youth Ministries. He traveled as a representative for Pensacola Christian College, then accepted the position of youth pastor at Grace Baptist Church in West Columbia, SC. He completed his Master's in Ministry from Bob Jones University during his fifteen-year tenure at Grace. Pastor Goforth accepted the position of Pastor at Providence Baptist Church in 2010. His favorite verse is Galatians 6:14. Four of the Goforths' five girls attend PCS. One of their daughters attend Pensacola Christian College.
Mr. David Hubbart
Mr. Hubbart was led to the Lord at a VBS when he was a child. After graduating from Monticello Christian Academy, he earned his B.S. in Secondary Education (emphasis: Physical Education and Science) at Pensacola Christian College. He has recently received his Master of Science in Educational Leadship from Pensacola Christian College. He joined the staff at PCS in 1988 as secondary teacher. Mr. Hubbart took on the role of administrator in 2013. He still teaches some science classes in the high school. He has graduated three children from the school. Mr. Hubbart loves to spend time with his family and is a weather freak. His favorite passage of Scripture is Psalm 37.
Pastor Paul Patterson
Youth Pastor and Athletic Director
Mr. Patterson grew up at Providence. He was led to the Lord on Christmas Eve by his mother when he was five years old. After graduating from PCS, Mr. Patterson attended Pensacola Christian College, earning his B.S. in Sports Management. He accepted the position of Youth Pastor at Providence in 2012. Mr. Patterson teaches Boys PE, Health, and 6th & 7th Grade Bible. His favorite verse is Jeremiah 33:3 and he is an avid Ohio State football fan.
Mrs. Keri Slater
Mrs. Slater was led to the Lord on Thanksgiving Day by her mother when she was five years old. She grew up at Providence, with both parents on staff as teachers. She went on to Pensacola Christian College, where she graduated with a B.S. in Physical Education and a minor in Business. She taught Physical Education and Computer classes at Hartford Christian Academy in West Hartford, CT, until joining the staff at PCS in 2013. Mrs. Slater's four daughters attend PCS. She loves to bake, often bringing in cakes and cupcakes to honor teachers on their birthdays. Her favorite verse is Psalm 28:7.
Mrs. Sarah Owen
Mrs. Owen graduated from Providence Christian School in 2010. She then went to on to get her Bachlors degree in Elementary Education from West Coast Bible College. She joined the staff here in 2014 teaching 2nd grade and coaching the JV Vollebally team. She has recently gotten married.
Mrs. Pamela Poole
Grade 3 - Guidance Counselor
Although raised in a Christian home, Mrs. Poole had a rebellious heart. Until confronted with the confusion she created, she lived for herself and thought she knew best how to guide her life. She gave her life to Christ and is grateful that the Heavenly Father sent His Son to gather us to Himself. Mrs. Poole graduated from Lynchburg Christian Academy in Lynchburg, Virginia. After completing her B.A. in Secondary English and Social Studies Education from Louisiana College, she went on to earn a Master's in Education in Counseling from Southeastern Louisiana University. For fourteen years, Mrs. Poole worked as a guidance counselor throughout the southern United States. In addition to teaching English in middle and high schools, she has experience teaching elementary classes. Mrs. Poole joined the staff of PCS in 2013. Her favorite verse is Psalm 40:2. Her interests include sea turtles, sewing, scrapbooking, traveling, and Walt Disney World.
Mrs. Elizabeth SIngleton
Mrs. Singleton graduated from Leto High School and studied at Bob Jones University. When she was in fourth grade, she heard the plan of salvation and saw the faithfulness of Christians around her. Influenced by the conviction of the Holy Spirit and the faithfulness of those around her, she accepted the Lord as her savior. Mrs. Singleton has been in Christian education since 1978. Her favorite verses are Jeremiah 29:11 and Philippians 1:6. In her free time, she enjoys collecting antique tea cups and saucers.
Mrs. Linda Hubbart
Grade 5/Grade 6 English
Mrs. Hubbart graduated from Providence Christian School in 1981. She then went on to Tennessee Temple University to get her BS in Elementary Education with a minor in PE and Bible. She joined the staff here in 1986. She has taught 4th grade for many years, 5th grade, PE, and coached softball and cheerleading. This year she is teaching 5th grade History, English, and Reading and 6th Grade English. She has been an invaluable tutor to many students over the years. She married our Administrator, Mr. Hubbart, in 1989 and has three children who have all gone to PCS.
Mrs. Cindy Herlocker
Elementary Library & Computer
Mrs. Herlocker graduated from Clearwater Christian College in 1993 with a B.S. in English. She joined our staff in 1993. She has taught many subject like English, Keyboarding, and Yearbook. This year she is our Elementary Computer teacher and our Librarian. She is also teaching High School Speech and Christian Living. She loves to plan parties, cook, and is an invaluable volunteer for many events. She also writes plays and VBS skits for her church, Hillsdale Baptist Church. Her son, Bryan, attends PCS.
Middle School and 5th-6th Grade
Mr. Garnder was saved when he was six and rededicated his life to God when he was in college. He graduated from Seaford Christian Academy (DE), then earned his B.S. in Elementary Education from Pensacola Christian College. He joined the staff at PCS in 2003. Until 2013, he taught sixth grade. In 2013, his role was expanded to include classes in seventh and eighth grades. Mr. Gardner has two daughter in the school. He enjoys photography and working with antique tools.
Miss Deanna Embrey
Miss Embrey grew up the daughter of a PCS teacher. She was saved at a teen camp when she was twelve years old. After graduating from PCS, Miss Embrey earned her B.S. in Secondary Education (emphasis: Mathematics) from Tennessee Temple University. She went on to earn her Master's in Education in Curriculum and Instruction in Mathematics from USF. She joined the PCS staff in 1985. Her favorite passage of Scripture is Joshua 1:7-9.
Mr. Massaro grew up at Providence. He made a profession of faith at five years old but was truly saved when sixteen years old at a school retreat. After graduating from PCS, Mr. Massaro earned his B.S. in journalism from Southeastern University. He joined the PCS staff in 2012. In addition to his English classes, Mr. Massaro is the Yearbook Coordinator, coaches several sports, and teaches US History. His favorite passage of Scripture is Joshua 1:9.
Mrs. Daye Goforth
High School Choir Director
Mrs. Daye Goforth has for the past 2 years been our High School Choir director. She graduated from Pensacola Christian College where she met our pastor, David Goforth. They have five beautiful girls, and have been ministering at Providence Baptist Church and School for several years. With her music background, Daye has been a blessing to our high school choir. She also helps head up our drama department. She is very active in all of our fine arts here at the school.
